Edge of the World
A classic story of a Scottish Island whose inhabitants must decide how to address their future. A powerful story of love, rivalry and survival against the harsh elemental realities of island life and an ever-encroaching modernity. The film was made over four months during the summer of 1936 on the island of Foula in the Shetland Isles, and is loosely based on the evacuation of the Scottish archipelago of St Kilda. Edge of the World is the first independent production by legendary British director Michael Powell.
