Illustrated talk: Surrounded by Water – Our Elemental Fear

Water offers a livelihood but also a threat to life. It is an elemental force and the last wilderness, the great unknown where lurk monstrous creatures. Our illustrated talk will bring together several strong themes – the misuse of water through pollution, the belief in the spirits of the seas and lochs, the ghosts and monsters associated with traditions and the dangers associated with shipwrecks, whirlpools and tidal waves.
